After 5 regular season games, the Jr Wildcats have an overall record of 3 wins and 2 losses and sit in the middle of the pack in the PWHL standings. After a successful exhibition season, the Toronto Leaside Jr Wildcats begun their regular season on September 21st. The Jr Wildcats lost the season opener 4-1 to Brampton and then rebounded with their first regular season win a few days later against Etobicoke. The Jr Wildcats won a very close contest 1-0 vs the Jr Dolphins – helped by a terrific shutout performance by Carmen Lasis and a game-winning goal by Jessica Robichaud. The Jr Wildcats continued their winning ways against the Durham West Jr Lightning a few days later, pulling out another 1-0 victory – with a great shutout performance by Hailey Farrelly this time and yet another game-winning goal scored by Jessica Robichaud. The Leaside Jrs then went on their first road trip of the season to play against Bluewater and Southwest. The Jr Wildcats dropped the first game vs Bluewater 1-0 and then bounced back the next day to defeat Southwest 3-1 thanks in large part to a 2 goal performance by Kaelyn Johnson.
In addition to the regular season games, the Jr Wildcats also hosted their 2nd skills session for the tyke, novice, atom and peewee players on September 20th. Over 100 young Wildcat players attended and received instruction from the entire Jr Wildcats team. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with fun for players and coaches alike. Thanks to all who attended the event and helped it to be such a great success!
