After 20 regular season games, the Toronto-Leaside Junior Wildcats have an overall record of 10 wins, 8 losses and 2 ties in league play which puts them in 10th place out of 20 teams in the PWHL standings.
The Jr Wildcats started this stretch of 5 games with a loss to Barrie, but responded with 4 straight wins. The winning streak began with a 3-0 road win vs London. It continued a few nights later with a very close & physical contest against Aurora which the Jr Wildcats won 2-1. The team continued its winning ways against Southwest and Kingston, defeating their opponents 3-0 and 4-2 in those contests.
In addition to league play, the Jr Wildcats competed in the Kitchener Can/Am Invitational Tournament on December 5th to 7th. The team had a great showing finishing the weekend with a record of 2 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss. With those five results, the team finished in 5th out of the 20 teams in attendance – a very successful weekend all around.
The Jr Wildcats continue their regular season this Wednesday with a home game vs Burlington and finish off the 2014 portion of the season with games against Stoney Creek and Nepean.
