On Sunday, April 4th, the Toronto-Leaside Jr Wildcats’ head coach, Kim McCullough, was named the Provincial Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Coach of the Year for her efforts throughout the 2015-2016.
Coach Kim guided the team to its best finish ever in the league – finishing 6th out of 20 teams. The team improved by 20 points in the standings (from 33 points in 14-15 season to 53 points in the 15-16 season). In only her 2nd year as a PWHL coach, Coach Kim led the team to win more games this season than the team had won in the previous 2 seasons combined.
These accomplishments are made that much more impressive given that the Leaside Jr team is in only its 4th year of existence in the league. Coach Kim was honored as Coach of the Year at a ceremony following the gold medal game of the league championship. She is pictured here with two of her current Toronto-Leaside Jr players, Mariah Hinds and Kristin Della Rovere.
Join us in congratulating Coach Kim and the entire Wildcats team on a great season!
