After 16 regular season games, the Toronto-Leaside Jr Wildcats have an overall record of 6 wins, 4 losses and 6 ties, good for 18 points in the standings and an overall win percentage of 0.563. The team currently sits tied for 8th place overall with games in hand.
Game 11 was a 3-0 loss at home against Cambridge. The team rebounded the next day against Whitby, playing to a 1-1 tie on the road. The Jr Wildcats returned to their winning ways in Game 13 at Etobicoke, winning 3-0, but then lost to Burlington the following day 4-0. This past weekend, the team won both games, defeated London 2-0 at home and beating Durham West 3-2 in overtime, battling back in dramatic fashion from a 2-0 deficit in the 3rd period.
The team also celebrated the naming of former Jr Wildcat, Mariah Hinds, as the Leaside Athlete of the Year at the Leaside Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday November 17th. Mariah is currently playing NCAA Division 1 hockey at Lindenwood University and is the first Jr Wildcat to be honored with this prestigious award. Congratulations to Mariah & her family for such a tremendous accomplishment.
